★ CPU: AMD & AMD3+ ★ Type: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P rev 1.0 ★ MEMORY: x4 1.5v DDR3 ★ AUDIO: Realtek ALC887 ★ LAN: 10/100/1000 Mbit As a IT specialist, that specializes in hardware by trade I have had a lot of experience with various motherboards and equipment and one brand that really is a top notch brand is Gigabyte, even their laptops are great but today I am going to review this motherboard. I will be going through the specifics and a simplistic overview of the motherboard itself and tell you why I recommend this board even in 2018. I have been using this particular board for just under two years I have been highly pleased with its reliability and its features. One of the key things is how surprisingly sturdy the board is, coming in at 30.5cm x 21.5cm I have swapped and interchanged so many RAM cards, graphics cards and throughout the time not a single bend or issue with it. As far as layout goes it is an easy board to understand, AM3+ compatible processor for AMD CPU's, x4 DIMM slots allow for a ton load of RAM to utilize and it packs x6 SATA ready connections to run all the drives you want. The BIOS itself is even easier to navigate, a duel UEFI bios, showcases every bit of information you would need for the newbie and the seasoned user, including the ability to overclock and monitor temperatures and clock frequencies. Easy to manage boot priorities make it super easy and simple to priorities which drives you want to boot first. Compatibility aspect of the board, as I mentioned it supports AM3+ processors, specifically the AMD Opteron, Sempron, Phenom II X3, Athlon II X2, Phenom II X2, Athlon II X4, Athlon II X3, Athlon II, Phenom II X4, Phenom II X6 & FX series processors. The board supports x4 240-pin (1.5 V) DDR3 DIMM slots, at a maximum of 32GB's, compatible with 1600 MHz, 1333 MHz, 1066 MHz, 1866 MHz, 2000 MHz RAM cards, x1 PCIe 2.0 x16 connectivity, x1 PCIe 2.0 x4 mode & 3x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots & lastly x2 PCI connectibity slots. Boasting x6 USB 2.0 & x2 USB 3.0 ports. A couple of other neat little features include the Humidity Protection component of the board itself, humidity as we know can play havoc on a motherboard's circuitry. GIGABYTE's Glass Fabric PCB design helps protect against electrical shorts due to humidity by reducing the gaps in spacing between PCB filaments. The only negative about this specific board of its time and today, is the limit to just AMD processors & a limitation on RAM. Overall its a great mid range board but as all things in IT, it is now considered an OLDIE but in my view, a GOLDIE. Pros: ★ Many SATA connections, support for powerful AMD3+ CPU's. Cons: ★ 32GB DDR3 Limit, Few USB 3.0 ports, AMD CPU compatibility ONLY. Highly Recommend: 7/10 ★ Type: 2.5" HDD / SSD ★ Output: USB 3.0 Micro B ★ Controller: NS1068X ★ Capacity: 2TB ★ Dimensions: 124.5 x 79 x 13mm ★ Supported OS: Windows 7 / 8 / 10, Linux, Mac OS 9.1 or above ★ Safety Approval: CE / FCC / RoHS ★ Version: Black / Red Capacitor One of the neatest looking enclosures I have ever come across in my years in I.T. I needed an enclosure to house an external hardrive for my Xbox 360 E-Console and I picked up this neat little enclosure that does just the trick. Compatible with consoles, USB friendly TV's, PC's, laptops and even certain MiFi routers specifically the Mi WiFi Router 3. This product by ORICO does exactly as advertised, allowing the user to turn an internal SATA hardrive into an external drive. Compatible with USB 3.0 connectivity and an array of colorful lights its super lightweight hardened plastic frame is perfect. Sporting a nice transparent shell allowing you to see your drive as opposed to those dark black clunky and ugly 2.5" & 3.5" SATA enclosures you see everywhere. The drive reads to a maximum of 2TB at 5Gbps and can run 2.5" HDD's & SSD drives. It is compatible with all common operating systems and needs NO drivers to run. Purely a plug and play device needing NO tools to assemble or de-assemble. You can pick your's up for Pros: ★ Transparent Design ★ Tool Free Assembly ★ Dual Drive Protection ★ USB 3.0 Cons: Plastic housing can easily be damaged if dropped or handled roughly. 9/10 Highly Recommended! ★ Author: Mark Bowden ★ Set In: Colombia ★ Published: 2001 ★ Publisher: Grove Press ★ Pages: 304 ★ ISBN: 978-0802123787 Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria was a Colombian drug lord. His cartel supplied an estimated 80% of the cocaine smuggled into the United States at the height of his career, turning over US$21.9 billion a year in personal income. Killing Pablo: The Hunt for the World's Greatest Outlaw (2001) is a book by Mark Bowden that details the efforts by the governments of the United States and Colombia, their respective military and intelligence forces, and Los Pepes to stop illegal activities committed by Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar and his subordinates. It relates how Escobar was killed and his cartel dismantled. The epic rise and fall of one of the most intriguing, wealthy and dangerous criminal in history. Packed with a ton load of detail, the book shows how Escobar rose from a poor farming family into the savage head of the infamous Medellin cartel. It showcases the corruption within the highest ranks of the Colombian government and some of the most ruthless and clever ways Escobar and his cartel lead attacks on rivals & government forces. At times declaring all out war against the government of Colombia while living lavishly like a King. It took hundreds of millions of dollars, the most high end technological advancements available at the time and a complete overall of the government to help bring The King Of Cocaine down. I enjoyed the texts on communications between Escobar and the government, his employees, the media and his family who were extremely loyal to each other. The two sides of Pablo Escobar were evident, on one hand you had a man, coming from poverty, lack of education and no direction to one of the most powerful and wealthiest self made people in history, with influence as far as you could reach, an intriguing cult figure that gave back to his community and employed thousands of unemployed and poor people and on the other hand you have a vicious kidnapper, conspirator, drug trafficker, narco-terrorist and a murderer. All facts that could never be denied are all showcases in this very informative and educational novel by Bowden. A gem of a book on one of the most intriguing figures in history. 9/10 More on Escobar @ http://spectemuragendo.weebly.com/general/the-king-of-cocaine-pablo-escobar |
